The guy is either still doing the electronics or not. If he's not, then just make it known & let people know. So far my gen4 has been ok, but if it does start to playup, going by the other experiences we've heard about regarding back up, I'l ditch it and go RacePak. To quote someone else on here, "quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten".

Yes drag racing and especially motorcycle drag racing is a very small market. However if you take peoples hard earned money for a product you sell that requires after sales service it is your obligation to provide this service. If it was a bad business decision to enter the particular market it is irrelevant ,you still need to fulfill your commitment to the people that placed faith in your product and handed over the money.
Being a famous US pro mod or funnybike racer should not be the pre requisite to get this service, which appears to be the case here.
Look at the after sales service that RPM data loggers supply as per the recent discussion on the US website. That is what influences future customers. One of the rules of business is every customer has a mouth and at least 2 friends.Average racers in the US are also having the same problems contacting MPE

I doubt he would have any legal obligation here. Maybe over there the laws are different. I would have thought you read the manual before you bought one, but if not the warranty for it states the following:

"Motorcycle Performance Engineering can not and does not warrant these
products and assumes no responsibility for improper fitment, compatibility with other products, incorrect data, calibration, software conflicts, consequential damage or any other concerns or damage arising from the use of these components."

"While Motorcycle Performance Engineering provides suggested wiring diagrams in this document, they are to be used as a guide only and Motorcycle Performance Engineering assumes no responsibility for
how a user or purchaser interprets these instructions."

I like this line:

"Installation of any Motorcycle Performance Engineering components or the use of any components assumes the purchaser has read this document and agrees to it’s content."

To be honest, one of the reasons I was looking at Greg's logger is because it was so cheap. The lack of detailed data and support (I had wrote and asked some questions about the product) was why we did not consider it. Seems like a lot of people defended it back then but of the places I spoke with RacePak was on the top of my list. All way too much for most bracket racers.

So public bashing seems to be getting you no where. Why not ask your questions? Maybe someone on this site could help.

Hi,
We designed and built the electronics for the MPE G4 Logger. If anyone is looking for support (repairs, software mods, general advice / queries), then email me logger @ tracktronics . com . au
